Disclosed is a method for producing a piston (6) of an internal combustion engine, according to which a first blank (1) and at least one additional blank (2) are molded into or are provided with a somewhat cylindrical shape, the blanks (1, 2) are joined together, the obtained piston blank (4) is subjected to a shaping process in which a combustion chamber cavity (9) of the piston (6) is formed in the area of a joining point (3) between blank (1) and blank (2), and the material of the second blank (2) forms a reinforcement at least of the combustion chamber cavity (9).
