Provides are a black matrix for color filters and a method of manufacturing the black matrix. The black matrix is formed on a substrate and defines a plurality of pixel regions. The black matrix has an upper surface having a plurality of nano-sized grooves formed therein and being ink-phobic, and lateral surfaces being ink-philic.
