The invention relates to a carding device comprising a discard unit for the separate capture of separated material, in particular for the removal of waste that is ejected from the take-in unit and/or from the cleaning duct. At least one ejection point is connected to a negative pressure source via the discard unit and an air-permeable wall is located between the negative pressure source and the ejection point in the discard unit, said wall retaining the separated material in the discard unit.
