A method of manufacturing a cast article (10) including a frame (12, 13; 14) that in use of the article defines an aperture; and a further component (16) that is in use retained moveably captive relative to the frame, comprises the steps of: (i) casting the said further component (16) and respective, first and second frame members (12m 13; 14), the said further component and the frame members being securable together to form the article (10); and (ii) subsequently assembling the said frame members and the further component together to form the article. A gully grate (10) results from practising the method.
