The invention relates to a mixing device comprising a mixing base on which consituents of a material to be kept damp, especially a ceramic material, are mixed. Said mixing device also comprises a liquid container and dampening means that are connected to the liquid container and are arranged and embodied in such a way as to keep damp the constituents of the material to be kept damp. The dampening means comprise a long liquid carrier which ensures the transport of liquid in the longitudinal direction thereof and provides a supply of liquid over the surface thereof, perpendicularly to the longitudinal direction, for constituents to be kept damp. Said liquid carrier is connected to the liquid container, and is adjacent to a mixing surface of the mixing base.
