The invention relates to a fixing device for fixing a WC seat fitting to a ceramic component, said fitting comprising a fixing adapter that can be fastened on the ceramic component and a hinge pin that is connected to said adapter for holding and releasing a WC seat hinge that bears the WC seat fitting. The invention also relates to a method for producing said fixing device. According to the invention, the fixing adapter and the ceramic component are connected by means of a bonding mass.
