The tattoo gun nib (14) has a nib body (28) which has a needle duct (32) for guiding at least one tattooing needle (34). The nib body (28) is connected to a reservoir (50) for holding a liquid. According to the invention, the reservoir (50) is filled with a skin irritant (52). Furthermore, the reservoir (50) is connected to the needle duct (32) via a supply duct for wetting the tattooing needle (34) with the skin irritant (52), with the supply duct (54) issuing into the needle duct (32). As a result, unnecessary dead volumes are avoided, so that the amount of skin irritant used is minimized.
