The article (2) to be packaged can be inserted via an opening cross-section of the packaging (3) and into the packaging, said opening cross-section being able to be at least partially covered by an essentially flat top flap (10). A device (13) having a receiving area (14) for a top flap (10) of a packaging (3) is provided in the insertion area (4). The top flap (10) is, in the insertion area (4), positioned in the receiving area (14) and is kept in a convex shape so that, at least during the insertion of the article (2) to be packaged and of the packaging (3) when the top flap (10) is convexly shaped, the opening cross-section (11) of the packaging (3) is larger than when the top flap (10) is flat.
