The invention relates to a method for production of acrolein, comprising at least the following steps: (a) introduction of an aqueous glycerine phase to an acrolein reaction volume to give an aqueous acrolein reaction phase, (b) stripping acrolein from the acrolein reaction phase to give an acrolein phase and a stripped acrolein reaction phase, (c) recycling of at least a part of the stripped acrolein reaction phase to the acrolein reaction volume. The invention further relates to a method for production of acrylic acid and water-absorbent polymer structures and composites, in particular, hygienic articles containing said water-absorbing polymer structure, a method for production of said composites and further chemical products based on the acrylic acid obtained by the above method and the use of said acrylic acid in chemical products.
