The invention relates to a sensor module head (SMK) for a liquid or gas sensor comprising a sensor module (SM) and a sensor module head (SMK) which can be removably interconnected and allow data and power to be exchanged via a galvanically disconnected transmission path in the joined state. The sensor module head (SMK) is provided with a power supply unit (EVE) for operating the sensor module head (SMK) and the sensor module (SM), as well as a data memory (MEM) for storing sensor data received from the sensor module (SM).
