An occupant (P) is restrained to a passenger scat (28) by a seat belt apparatus (30). A passenger-seat side airbag (44) is constructed of a first airbag (40) that is deployed along a windshield (46), and a second airbag (42) that is deployed along an upper surface (12A) of an instrument panel (12). A gap opening is formed between the first and second airbags. That is, since the hip and the chest of the occupant (P) are restrained by the seat belt apparatus (30), the airbag apparatus is intended to specifically restrain the head of the occupant (P), which undergoes a larger inertial movement to a vehicular front side, by the first airbag (40) and the second airbag (42). Therefore, the gas capacity of the passenger-seat side airbag (44) as a whole can be reduced.
