The present invention relates to a glow, spark or heating element for internal combustion and/or heating devices, in particular a glow plug, spark plug or a heater, having a corrosion prevention layer for those parts of the glow, spark or heating element which comprise silicon-containing ceramic. Said invention is characterized in that the corrosion prevention layer is composed of a mixture of SiO2 and at least one further substance.
