The invention relates to a method for the control and user-specific adaptation of a multimedia messaging service in mobile communications systems, in which the user of the multimedia messaging service performs the control and user-specific adaptation by transmitting appropriate control information to the MMS system as a MMS message by means of a MMS-capable terminal device.
