The invention relates to a device for optical micromanipulation 10, including means 26 for generating a light beam 12 and focusing means for focusing the light beam in a sample 16.
According to the invention, the focusing means include an aspherical singlet lens 18 designed to focus the light beam 12 with an angular magnification larger in absolute value than 10.
Advantageously, the device for optical micromanipulation 10 is provided with cooperation means for cooperating with an imaging device for imaging the sample such that the combined device comprising the device for optical micromanipulation 10 and the imaging device is capable of exercising the functions of optical micromanipulation and imaging simultaneously.
The invention further provides a method for optical micromanipulation, comprising the steps of generating a light beam 12 and focusing the light beam 12 in a sample 16.
According to the invention, the focusing means include an aspherical singlet lens 18 designed to focus the light beam 12 with an angular magnification larger in absolute value than 10.
