The vehicle power supply apparatus includes a main power supply (11), a load (15) connected to the main power supply (11), an electric storage unit (31) that stores the electric power from the main power supply (11), and a control circuit (43) that controls the electric storage unit (31) to supply electric power from the electric storage unit (31) to the load (15) when the voltage (Vb) of the main power supply (11) becomes smaller than a predetermined threshold value. The control circuit (43) inhibits supplying of the electric power from the electric storage unit (31) to the load (15) in a vehicle nonuse state when the electric power is supplied from the main power supply (11) to a starter (23) to start the engine of the vehicle, and when any electric power is not supplied from the main power supply (11) to the load (15).
