The invention essentially relates to a method for producing nuclear fuel elements that comprises the steps of placing beads of nuclear fuel in a container of an ultra-porous material, applying a CVI to the container and withdrawing the container. The present invention also relates to a container for producing nuclear fuel elements comprising beads, the container being made of at least one ultra-porous material such as carbon foam.
