The invention relates to a method for locating a motor vehicle. It is characterized in that it involves the steps of: - acquiring a location code (LC_ENTR); - checking the location code (LC_CH K); and - locating the motor vehicle (V_LOC), the location being launched by an identification item, the identification item permitting access to and starting of the vehicle.
