At least one handle (7), the inside of which is provided with a gas lever (4) likewise in a pivotal manner, is attached to a housing (5) surrounding the internal combustion engine (1). The minimum distance between the gas lever (4) and the handle (7) is defined by a stop (9, 10). When the operator lifts the implement by the handle (7), the position of the gas lever (4) also changes. Even when the gas lever (4) is fully depressed, only a part-load position is achieved at the throttle valve (2). In this way, effective rotational speed limitation is achieved.
