The invention relates to a visual device including an ophthalmic lens (20) having an edge (23) provided with an insertion rib (24). The invention also relates to a method for making such a device. According to the invention, the insertion rib includes at least fifteen alternating bearing sections (50) and as many singular freedom sections (51), wherein the singular freedom sections (51) are narrower in width and/or height by at least 0.05 millimetre relative to said bearing sections (Sa).
