A shifting fork (1) is provided for a motor vehicle transmission, to which shifting fork (1) a sensor arm (4) of a shifting fork position-detection device is attached. At the free end of the sensor arm (4), a magnet carrier (5) is attached, and at least one magnet body, preferably two magnet bodies which are spaced apart from one another, is/are attached to said magnet carrier (5), precisely positioned with respect to at least one reference point on the shifting fork (1). At least two parts of the assembly which is composed of the sensor arm (4), the magnet carrier (5) and the at least one magnet body can be connected to one another in a permanent and durable fashion by means of a shrink-fit hose section (8, 9) which is fitted over these two components so as to envelop them.
