At least one row (5) of projecting rods for holding the pieces of crockery (4) is arranged on the bottom of the basket, said row consisting of at least one base wire (5.2) for the rods and at least one row (5) of rods which is fixed to the base wire and consists of individual rod wires (5.1). The ends of the base wire (5.2) for the rods are bent and fixed to the bottom of the basket, and the base wire (5.2) is arranged at a distance from the bottom of the basket in the region of the row (5) of rods. The invention also relates to a dishwasher comprising a corresponding crockery basket (1).
