A tool holder having the following characteristics: - in the chuck (7) a central transfer pipe (8) is disposed, the outlet end of which dispenses the medium to the tool (2) - on the inlet side a pipe nozzle (10) adjoins the transfer pipe (8) and forms a chamber into which on the inlet side a coupling sleeve (11) leads, which can be connected coaxially to a hollow-cylindrical passage (5) in the working spindle (4), – on the inlet side, the pipe nozzle (10) is surrounded at least over a part of the axial length thereof by a takeover pipe (12) – on the inlet side, the pipe nozzle (10) has a smaller outside diameter than the inside diameter of the takeover pipe (12), and – the inside diameter and the outside diameter of the coupling sleeve (11) at the outlet ends thereof are configured such that the end of the coupling sleeve (11) can be moved in an axial direction in the annular gap-shaped intermediate space (14) between the takeover pipe (12) and the pipe nozzle (10).
