A parachute system is disclosed for especially ballistically deployed systems. Said parachute system comprises an unopened parachute (20), the canopy (1) of which is enclosed by a packsack (11) that has predetermined breaking points (12) in the bottom zone and a cable connection (13) or the like to the functional support (5) at the top end. When the cable connection (13) acts on the packsack (11), the latter is separated from the functional support (5) at the predetermined breaking points, and the parachute (20) is unfolded by raising the canopy (1). A stabilizing net (2) is incorporated into the parachute (20). The canopy (1), including the stabilizing net (2) and the strings (3), is connected to the functional support (5) via a stable connection (4) which comprises a steel cable lock (6), a brake (7) for the steel cable lock (6), and a steel cable (8).
