The method for the production of a support on a component (14), comprises applying a metallic matrix of the support based on current-carrying main wire as electrode by mean of a welding arc in a welding bath on the polarity opposed as pole with the electrode, feeding a current-carrying addition wire into the welding arc, and melting the welding arc of the additional wire and the component and then combining superficially during the hardening with the support in firmly bonded manner. The additional wire is connected with the component in electrically conductive manner. The method for the production of a support on a component (14), comprises applying a metallic matrix of the support based on current-carrying main wire as electrode by mean of a welding arc in a welding bath on the polarity opposed as pole with the electrode, feeding a current-carrying addition wire into the welding arc, and melting the welding arc of the additional wire and the component and then combining superficially during the hardening with the support in firmly bonded manner. The additional wire is connected with the component in electrically conductive manner. The head wire and the additional wire are a cored wire. The head wire is adjusted to an angle of 0-14[deg] against a solder (16) on the component in seam direction. The additional wire is adjusted around an angle of 40-60 against the head wire. A portion of 40 vH of a current force is discharged in the head wire into the additional wire. The portion is controlled over a feed rate of the additional wire. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a device for the production of a support on a component with a current source and welding head.
