At least one user in touch with the first user is obtained as a second user. A transfer notification is sent to the second user. The transfer notification includes the first identifier and the second identifier of the first user. Therefore, by using the method for notifying contacts of address book transfer, the contacts in touch with a transferred user can receive a corresponding notification. Therefore, the two parties can update contact information in time and use rich functions provided by a Converged Address Book (CAB) after the transfer.
