The present invention relates to an ironing appliance, comprising a pump (100) that includes a pumping chamber (110) provided with an inlet (114) and an outlet (115), the pumping chamber (110) including a movable wall (111) that comprises an outer surface contacting a piezoelectric actuator (111A) provided to move said movable wall (111) while changing the volume of the pumping chamber (110) by means of said piezoelectric actuator (111A), characterized in that said pump (100) is placed in the ironing appliance such that the outlet (115) of the pumping chamber (110) is located at a higher level than the inlet (114) in a normal position for operating the appliance.
