The invention relates to a control device for a domestic appliance, in particular for a hob, comprising a control element support (10a - 10g) that has at least one functional field (12a - 12g) which is provided for coupling to a removable control element (14a - 14g). To provide a device of this type with improved characteristics in terms of a signal evaluation option, according to the invention the control device support (10a - 10g) has at least one contour element (16a - 16g) which performs at least one control function that deviates from a rotational movement (18a - 18g).
