A mobile terminal is presented. The mobile terminal includes a memory unit, a touchscreen configured to display an icon, and a controller configured to control an operation associated with a function corresponding the icon displayed on the touchscreen, control the touchscreen to display a user interface for bookmarking icons, detect a bookmark command for the icon displayed on the touchscreen, temporarily store, in the memory unit, the icon in response to the bookmark command, and control the touchscreen to display the bookmarked icon within the user interface.
