It is described a method for dynamically controlling an uplink transmission power of a user equipment assigned to a base station within a cell of a mobile network. The method comprises determining a current traffic load within the cell, triggering in response to a specified trigger point an adaptation of the uplink transmission power of the user equipment, and controlling the uplink transmission power of the user equipment in response to the triggering and depending on the current traffic load.
