The invention is an improvement to existing grinders, that enables a significant reduction of the cost of using said grinders, enabling,
inter alia , a substantial saving in the quantity of the product used to produce the protections of the rotors of said grinders. The invention relates to a protection block for a rotor of a material grinder, especially rotors for scrap grinders, comprising a first part or shielding plate (2.2) that, in turn, comprises a first fixing means (2.3) that is rigidly connected to its inner face, in a removable or non-removable manner, and a second part, independent from the first part, forming a second fixing means (2.4).
