The invention relates to a method for supplying fuel to a vehicle (10) by filling fuel into a vehicle fuel tank (20), the fuel tank (20) comprising an tank opening (50) for filling fuel into the fuel tank (20), wherein in a fuelling mode a position of the tank opening (50) is adapted to increase an intake capacity of the fuel tank (20) by moving the tank opening (50) from a first position (80) over ground level (GL) to a second position (90) over ground level (GL).
