A sheet processing apparatus (201) includes a stacking channel (241) to stack multiple sheets into a sheet bundle (272), and a binding device (210) configured to bind together the sheet bundle (272) and including multiple clamping portions (270) to clamp the sheet bundle (272) to create multiple clamping marks (281) on the sheet bundle (272). When the binding device (210) binds a corner area of the sheet bundle (272), a longitudinal direction of each of the multiple clamping marks (281) forms an angle within a range from 30 degrees to 60 degrees with a side (272e) of the corner area (272d) of the sheet bundle (272).
