The accessory device comprises a magnetic attachment feature arranged to magnetically attach to a host device (302); and an electronic circuit that acts in concert with the host device. The electronic circuit enables the host device to perform a host device function only when the host device and the accessory device are magnetically attached to each other using the magnetic attachment feature. Otherwise, the host device is incapable of performing the host device function.
