A container for candle wax comprises a base part (210; 310) with a bottom (212; 312), and a preferably cylinder-shaped wall (230; 330) extending upwardly from the base part. By providing the base part and the wall as separate parts, several advantages are obtained regarding selection of material, light properties, and operation.
