The invention relates to a sensor system, comprising several sensor elements, which are designed in such a way that the sensor elements detect at least partially different primary measured variables and/or use at least partially different measurement principles, furthermore comprising a signal processing device, wherein the signal processing device is designed in such a way that the signal processing device evaluates the sensor signals of the sensor elements at least partially in common and evaluates the information quality of the sensor signals, wherein the signal processing device provides information about the accuracy of at least one datum of a physical quantity, wherein the signal processing device is designed in such a way that the information about the accuracy is described in at least one characteristic quantity or one set of characteristic quantities.
