摘要：
In order to machine at least one workpiece (1) on a lathe, wherein the workpiece (1) rotates in the lathe and the at least one region to be machined of the workpiece (1) is machined with the aid of at least one tool (3) of the lathe, wherein the tool (3) is moved at least parallel to the rotation axis (2) of the workpiece (1), according to the invention the tool (3) is moved parallel to the rotation axis (2) of the workpiece (1) such that the machined region of the workpiece (1) is formed in a rotationally asymmetrical manner with respect to the rotation axis (2) of the workpiece (1) after machining. Furthermore, the invention relates to a cooling duct (7), to a piston wall (13) and to a combustion-chamber hollow (9) of a piston (6) and also to a lathe.
