The invention relates to an ultrasonic motor comprising an ultrasonic actuator (1) in the form of a piezoelectric hollow cylinder (2), wherein friction elements (3) are arranged on at least one of the front faces (4) thereof, a rotor (6), which is operationally connected to the friction elements, and an electric excitation device, wherein the ultrasonic motor is subdivided in peripheral direction into an even number of sections Sa and Sb with an average length L of a sector in peripheral direction, with a height H of a sector in axial direction and a thickness T of a sector in radial direction, and the sectors form a first sector group A and a second sector group B, wherein the sectors Sa and Sb of the two sector groups A and B alternate and adjoin each other in peripheral direction, and the friction elements (3) are arranged in the region where adjacent sectors adjoin. It is essential to the invention that each of the sectors Sa and Sb be formed by excitation electrodes, which are alternatingly arranged in axial direction of the hollow cylinder, and by general electrodes, wherein a layer of piezoelectric material is arranged between adjacent excitation electrodes and general electrodes in each case, and all the excitation electrodes and all the general electrodes are all electrically connected to each other in each sector.
