The present invention relates to a method for managing personal information in a communication system for providing a converged address book (CAB) service, comprising the steps of: enabling a CAB user to generate a personal information restoration request comprising a document recognition value (XCAP URI) of a personal document stored in the CAB, current version information of the personal document, and property information indicating the personal document to be stored from the current version to the previous version, enabling a CAB user to transmit the restoration request through an arbitrary device to a server for managing the CAB; and enabling the CAB user to receive from the server, a response for informing of the personal document to be restored from the current version to the previous version, through the arbitrary device.
