Special transport containers which are designed with double walls and which have an outer container with a cylindrical main body and two end walls in which a similarly designed inner container is accommodated are used for the transportation of cryogenic fluids. A holder is arranged at each end of the inner container. The first holder is designed to be rigid and is connected to the adjacent end wall of the outer container. The second holder has two holding parts by means of which the two end walls can be displaced relative to one another in the axial direction. The one movable holding part is formed by a cylindrical spigot which is retained by a hollow cylindrical profile element. Since the spigot shrinks, even in diameter, because of the low temperature of the inner container, the surfaces in mutual contact practically reduce to a very narrow section of the circumferential surfaces. This results in a very high surface contact pressure and high wear on the surfaces in contact because of the horizontal accelerations occurring during transport. This problem is solved in that the first holding part (31) of the movable holder (22) has two flat contact surfaces (33; 34) which interact with two flat bearing surfaces (36; 37) of the second holding part (32), which bearing surfaces are arranged in a V-shape and are aligned symmetrically to the vertical plane (35) of the longitudinal axis (19). Even when the second holding part (32) shrinks, the surfaces in contact retain their flat form, and thereby a low surface contact pressure and low wear is ensured.
