The invention relates to a layer for coating a medium, comprising a mixture of cellulose nanofibres and grains of a filler or pigment, in which: the cellulose nanofibres have a diameter of less than 50 nm and a shape factor greater than 30, and at least 50% of the grains have a size smaller than 500 nm.
