Described herein is a device (2) for plasma treatment of solid waste, the device (2) comprising:
- a casing (10) defining a treatment volume;
- a plasma torch including a first electrode (16) and a second electrode (18) that face into the aforesaid treatment volume;
- an inlet port (W_IN) for intake of solid waste to be treated;
- an outlet port (W_OUT) for disposal of inert solid products of reaction;
- a supply port (G_IN) for intake of a gas for supplying the aforesaid plasma torch; and
- a discharge port (G_OUT) for discharge of gaseous products of reaction.
The first electrode (16) and the second electrode (18) are arranged opposed to one another, and the aforesaid casing (10) is mounted rotatable about an axis of rotation (X10). Moreover described herein is a treatment system incorporating the aforesaid treatment device (2).
