The present document describes a latch 1 which may comprise a base member 2 with a base plate 2a, a lever 3 which may be pivotally arranged on said base member 2. Further, on one side said lever 3 may have a pawl 4 that may be configured to engage with a keeper 101 upon rotation of the lever 3. The latch may further have a locking member 5 for locking said lever 3 and said base member 2 in a closed position of said latch (1), wherein said lever 3 may have a handling portion 8 which may project at an angle α of more than 10° and less than 90° from said base member 2 in said closed position of said latch 1, wherein said angle α may be arranged between a plane of the base plate 2a and a longitudinal axis of the handling portion 8.
