An ablation device, comprises an antenna (203) having a proximal portion and a distal portion and a trocar (245). The trocar includes a shaft (250) operably associated with the distal portion of the antenna; a first electrode (712A) disposed on a proximal portion of the shaft; and a second electrode (712b) forming a distal tip (258) of the trocar and configured for insertion into tissue, wherein the first (712a) and second (712b) electrodes are longitudinally spaced from one another along a longitudinal axis defined by the shaft.
