A progressive cold forming machine (10) and a robot for automatically changing a cutoff cassette (18), tooling cassettes (13, 15), a transfer slide (19) and transfer cam. A loading area (31) adjacent the machine (10) and robot has provisions for supporting a tooling cassette pallet (46) and a transfer slide (19) and camshaft pallet and a holding area for temporarily receiving some of the componentry being exchanged.
