Abstract:
The invention relates to a reinforcing element (34) having a generally flattened cross-section and an aspect ratio greater than or equal to 5 and extending in a main direction (Z1). The element comprises a side edge (46) made from a polymer composition comprising a thermoplastic polymer, the side edge (46) extending in a general direction substantially parallel to the main direction. The reinforcing element (34) is such that R=(Uc-U1 )/Uc is such that R > 11 %, wherein: Uc is the average value of the microhardness of the reinforcing element (34) measured in the central portion thereof; and U1 is the average value of the microhardness of the reinforcing element (34) measured on the side edge (36) thereof. The side edge (46) has no ridges.
