The invention relates to a method for producing a sensor (10) which is equipped to detect a physical field (30) as a function of a dimension (12) to be measured using a measuring sensor (34) and to emit an electrical output signal (12) based on the detected physical field (30) via a data cable (38, 64), comprising: - placing the measuring sensor (34) and the data cable (64) on a mould (50, 59) defining the position of the measuring sensor (34) and the data cable (38, 64), - Coating the measuring sensor (34) and the data cable (38, 64) positioned in the mould (50, 59) with a first material (56), - Removing the measuring sensor (34) and data cable (38, 64) coated with the first material (56) from the mould (50, 59), and - Coating the measuring sensor (34) and data cable (38, 64) removed from the mould (50, 59) and coated with the first material (56) with a second material (62).
