A web moving member (3, 20, 48) moves a web (30) of wrapping material towards a wrapping material inlet (15) guiding into the chamber (Ch). The web (30) is injected into the chamber (Ch). The object (B) in the chamber (Ch) is wrapped. A moveable severing member (5) of a severing device (5, 19) severs the web (30). A movement of the web moving member (3, 20, 48) is coupled with a movement of the moveable severing member (5) from a parking position into an intermediate position. A severing actuator moves the moveable severing member (5) from the intermediate position into a web severing position, thereby severing the web (30).
