The wearable device includes: a parameter collector, configured to collect a parameter that is used to determine a running mode of an associated electronic device; a processor, configured to determine, according to the parameter collected by the parameter collector, a running mode to which the electronic device is to switch; and a transmitter, configured to send a switching instruction to the electronic device according to the running mode determined by the processor, where the switching instruction is used to indicate the running mode to which the electronic device is to switch. In this way, the wearable device can automatically control, according to a different characteristic parameter, another electronic device to enter a specified running mode, so that functions of the wearable device are more diversified, and practicability of the wearable device is also improved.
