The invention concerns an assembly (1, 2) for packaging, storing and dispensing gas comprising a protective packaging (1) comprising a bottom (3), a cover (4) and a series of sidewalls (5a-5d) together defining an inner chamber (6), said sidewalls (5a-5d) being located between the bottom (3) and the cover (4), and a gas container (2) provided with a valve block (7) positioned inside the inner chamber (6) of the protective packaging (1), the whole of the gas container (2) and the valve block (7) being covered and protected by the protective packaging (1). A separating wall (15) is arranged inside the inner compartment (6), between the gas container (2) and the cover (4), said separation wall (15) dividing the inner chamber (6) into a lower sub-chamber (6b) containing the gas container (2), and an upper sub-chamber (6a) lying over the lower sub-chamber (6a). Use of the assembly of the invention for packaging and dispensing oxygen, in particular medical oxygen.
