The invention relates to a top comb for a combing machine, comprising a top comb support (5) for fastening a top comb set (2), as well as a holding portion (8) and a reinforcement (7). The invention is characterized in that the top comb support (5) is made integrally with the holding portion (8) and the reinforcement (7) from a fibre-reinforced plastic, the fibres embedded in the plastic being continuous filaments extending substantially in the longitudinal direction of the top comb (1).
